Behind the Blue Line

1hr documentary commissioned by SBS as part of the Untold Australia initiative

Australia is undergoing a rapid cultural transformation and the police must adapt. In Perth, Western Australia, they’re trying to do just that; and their test case is Mirrabooka, a suburb where the community speaks more than 100 languages. With no-holds access, we go behind the scenes with Mirrabooka’s frontline officers. Candid and raw, our cameras are with these officers as they tackle the suburb’s serious drug crime and domestic violence issues. A combination of old pros and new, culturally-diverse recruits, the Mirrabooka officers are open, humorous guides to one of the most complex policing tasks in Australia. Join them in this compelling view of life “Behind the Blue Line.”
